Acolytes bring "the light of Christ" into and carry it out of Sunday morning services. Older elementary and middle school age youth are encouraged to serve in this area. Contact the church office at 882-1549 if you are interested. Elderberries+ is a social group, for persons 50 years of age and older, that share fellowship through meals and seasonal outings. Elizabeth Ministry is affirmation, support, encouragement and assistance to women in response to their needs during the childbearing years. This includes mentoring women through issues of infertility, pregnancy, childbirth, adoption and the loss of a child. For more information, contact Sue at 888-5784 or Christi at 362-4619. Emmaus Walk is a three day Christian retreat where you are invited to deepen your faith, your understanding of God's will for your life, and the loving relationship that is extended to you through Jesus Christ. Andrew's Harvest Food Pantry is open every Thursday from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon. This is an outreach of CUMC. Donations of food or money to buy food are always accepted to help us keep our shelves stocked. For more information, call the church office at 882-1549. Lawn Maintenance is a volunteer crew responsible for mowing, weeding and trimming of the church yard. For more information, contact the church office at 882-1549. Library is maintained by volunteers. Scouting at Christ United Methodist Church is a program that teaches boys and girls the fundamentals of honor and duty to their country and to God. Christ Church has long been a supporter of the scouting program on the Indianapolis Southside and the church is happy to be home to various Cub Scout, Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops. Stephen Ministry is a supportive network established through Christ United Methodist Church to provide a friend to help you through any type of personal conflict or "tough time." A Stephen Minister is a confidential friend, someone to talk to, and a good listener. For more information contact Sylvia at sylvia@burgessmechanical.com Sound Technicians and Video Technicians provide an important service at CUMC as they enable all those in attendance to hear the messages being presented and as they video tape the services to be used for shut-ins. We will train you...call the church office to volunteer - 882-1549. Sunday Lunch Bunch meets the 3rd Sunday of the month at 12:15 pm at a local restaurant. This is for those who are male, female, couples, singles, widows, widowers, married or divorced of any age. Those attending will pay for their own meal and must come planning to have a good time. Watch for sign ups at the Welcome Center. Sunday Morning Children's Sunday School Teachers are a vital part of our education program. Sunday Morning Nursery Care Providers are needed for us to staff our nurseries during the worship services and Sunday School on Sunday mornings. Caterpillars are birth through 9 months, Butterflies are 10 months through 15 months, Ladybugs are 16 months through 30 months and Busy Bees are 2 1/2 up to 4 years. Bible stories are shared during the Sunday School hour. We need a minimum of 27 adults each Sunday. Youth leaders, who have been pre-approved, may work in most nursery areas and they are very appreciated with adult supervision. They assist in various aspects of morning worship and provide newcomers with the necessary information.
